The Nicer Repairman

As you may know, Miele-authorized repair can help keep your ice maker in top condition. Ever since 1914 when Nathaniel B. Wales invented the first electric refrigerator, we have all become highly dependent on our refrigeration, according to Interesting Engineering. As such, when our ice makers start to act up, it can be frustrating to deal with. Here are the three most common reasons your ice maker might need authorized repair services.
If your ice maker isn't getting water because of a kinked or clogged water line, you won't get ice. A kink can happen when the unit has been moved or shoved too close to the wall. If it's kinked, you can solve the problem by unkinking it. If there's a clog, the line must be flushed, and you should leave that up to the repair expert.
It's possible that ice buildup may be in the line causing a blockage and preventing water from reaching the ice maker. If you suspect that may be the case, consider getting a professional to check the water line. If ice has become stuck in the ice mold, new ice can’t be made. Fractured ice can build up over time and become stuck together, making it impossible to make new ice. The buildup will need to be removed first. It can help to try turning off your ice maker and pouring warm water over the frozen block ice, but it will likely take several pitchers of warm water to get the ice to melt. In most cases, this should fix the issue with no further repairs needed.
Thermostats can be changed accidentally, and if the thermostat is set too high, the ice maker may not work. Check the setting on your thermostat to ensure it's set to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature. You should also check to ensure your ice maker is set to the "ice-making" setting to ensure quality results.
In short, there are several reasons why your ice maker may not be making ice. If you have checked the three most common causes and still are having problems call a
